Weekend Activities
Posted by email on June 17, 2010Ladies and Gentlemen:
We have an amazing weekend coming up with some one-of-a-kind activities planned:
1. This weekend features the once-in-a-century opportunity to participate in the Adventure Base 100. This is a special centennial event (once every 100 years) that is touring America and making a stop in Cedar Rapids (located on the Kirkwood Community College campus). We have been advised that V2K will be the featured topic for this event. We will pulling out all the stops for this, so we are asking you to do the following: * We will be presenting a skit on the Adventure Base 100 stage at 2 PM Friday and 2 PM and 5 PM Saturday. The skit text is written, props have been manufactured and several members have been preparing, but we need everyone to be there. * Following the 2 PM performance on Saturday, many of you will be filmed and interviewed regarding our 4 specialty areas. * Members should wear either the V2L polo, Creak Freak t-shirt, Wilderness Medicine t-shirt or our new Radio Club t-shirt (available to licensees at the event).
2. There will NOT be a regular V2K meeting on Sunday. Instead, we will assemble at the Ikes at 3 PM for a rousing paint ball war. At 6 PM, Crew members will have a short business meeting, following a cook-out prepared by adult/parents/advisors. I need volunteers to help with the cooking and food prep.
